What class do you generally attend (morning/afternoon)?   9:30 a.m.  on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Favorite WOD:   Anything with pull ups.

Least Favorite WOD:  Anything with deadlifts.

Tell us about you sports & fitness background:  I ran track and I was on the drill team in high school.   I didn’t play sports in college.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?  I was doing a workout video at home but was getting very bored and unmotivated.  I wanted to join a group type class for the community and also wanted to find a facility that had childcare.  I have a sister in law who does CrossFit so I knew a little about it.  I googled and CrossFit Katy popped up.  My first class was a Burn class and everyone was so welcoming.  I thought I was going to die after the first workout but I was hooked!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?   At first I just was working out 3 times a week at the gym and I was getting stronger and it felt great.  In January of this year I joined the New Year, New You Challenge at CrossFit Katy and attended a nutritional seminar that they were offering.  I started CrossFitting every day and changed my eating and then I really saw a difference in my body and the way I felt.  I used to diet and think being skinny is what I wanted but I now view my body so differently and love my muscles.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
The community and family that I have found in CrossFit Katy was unexpected and I made some amazing friends and actually hate to miss class!

Name one goal you have reached since joining CFK and one goal you want to achieve (example:  deadlift/squat/press ­­­___ pounds; do a pullup; do a WOD RX’d, etc.):  I was so excited to do a toe to bar but I’m still hoping to improve my cleans.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFK moments:  My first CrossFit Open and people who don’t even know me cheering me on.  I lifted weights I never thought I could!

Any advice for people just getting started?  Don’t give up.  Push yourself and be proud of your yourself.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?  Playing with my 2 kids and reading!
