Age: 29

Occupation: Accountant

When did you first start doing CrossFit?: I started doing CrossFit my junior year of college in 2013.

When did you first start training at CrossFit Katy?: I started training at CrossFit Katy in 2019.

What class do you generally attend (morning/afternoon)? 5am, every once in awhile I’ll go to 4:30pm.

Favorite WOD: Averie’s baby wod !

Least Favorite WOD: Anything with a lot of double unders in it.

Tell us about your sports & fitness background: I grew up playing softball, volleyball, and basketball. Softball was my primary sport and I ended up playing D1 softball for San Jose State University.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD... what was it, and how did it feel? I got exposed to CrossFit when my college coach told me that I needed to get faster because he couldn’t afford to get me a pinch runner every time I got on base.  One of our strength and conditioning coaches owned a CrossFit gym right by campus and all the soccer and swimming girls went there and were so fit. I dropped in one day and have been hooked ever since.  I was exhausted after my first WOD but I loved how it pushed me mentally and physically.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)? Before I started CrossFit I was not in the best shape and struggled with my weight. I was athletic but definitely not fit.  Once I started CrossFit I got quicker, stronger, and leaner.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced since starting CrossFit?  Crossfit has done more for me than just help me physically and mentally.  I have met some of my best friends through CrossFit and I also met my Fiancé when I was competing at a Crossfit Katy competition.

Name one goal you have reached since joining CFK and one goal you want to achieve: Since joining CFK I learned how to do C2B butterfly pull ups. One goal I still want to achieve is handstand walking.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFK moments: I love helping out with the CFK comps and seeing how big and supportive the CrossFit community is.

Any advice for people just getting started? Just stay consistent and enjoy the process.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? Outside of CrossFit I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and eating.
